| Soft furnishings,
beyond choosing the window blinds, is an area of office planning often overlooked by the
average manager. However, soft furnishings have a great deal more to do with comfort, both
physical and visual, than one might suppose. Noise level is an inherent factor of large offices and needs to be addressed if its impact on working efficiency is to be cut. Carefully located soft furnishings can have a dramatic effect on the acoustics of a large office by softening the ambient noise level thus enhancing the acoustic properties of suspended ceilings and partition panels and improving voice communication between people. |

It is fair to
include carpets under this heading as well as wall finishes, and even pieces of furniture
such as lounge chairs and settees in receptions and executive suites. Great care
must be taken to avoid visual conflicts with other furnishings, especially office
furniture. Like all good designs, where possible a theme is introduced early in the
planning stage, thus allowing an informed choice throughout the design's development. Britefox
Limited prepare such themes and present them with the aid of CAD generated
visuals, coloured sketches and samples of the materials to be used. But the choice is yours, and it will be an informed choice, and your wishes will always be accommodated. |
